Children’s book writer, Ginger Rock Weddle, is a natural storyteller. She loves to tell stories and delights in the presence of children. Her focus on writing follows her career working with children as a Speech and Language Pathologist, well grounded in child and language development. She believes reading to children, language development, and early reading skills go hand-in-hand.
Ginger is a native of Oklahoma, but since first moving away in the 1980s, the Weddle family has lived in six different states across the U.S. These relocations have taught Ginger to appreciate cultural differences and similarities, increased her capacity for empathy, and developed skills of resilience. Ginger enjoys reading, baking, flowers, and travel. She has been fortunate to travel to Europe, China, Africa, South America, Mexico and Canada. She believes travel opens us to appreciate history, the commonalities of daily life, and the unique obstacles facing different cultures.
Ginger lives with her husband in Virginia. Their son and identical-twin daughters are all married and scattered across the land.
Her friends and family often hear her say, “Bloom where you’re planted.”
